The ‘Cheerleader’ May Save the World But ‘Theon Greyjoy’ Saves Supanova!

In an unexpected turn of events just days before the expo, Heroes actress Hayden Pannettiere who is currently appearing in the new ABC series Nashville as teen singing sensation ‘Juliette Barnes’, has had to cancel her appearance due to her TV show re-scheduling. Much as she tried to make it down here, Hayden’s producers couldn’t let her head off to Australia for our two week tour of Sydney and Perth.

However, another young pop culture luminary has stepped into Supanova’s line up: Alfie Allen, who stars in the outrageously popular series Game of Thrones. Adapted from the novels by George R.R. Martin, the series follows the machinations and power struggles of a number of family dynasties in the fictional medieval land of Westeros. Alfie plays ‘Theon Greyjoy’, a complex and challenging role for the talented actor. The affable 25-year-old Londoner courageously brings some humanity to a problematic character.

Supanova cannot thank Alfie enough for the supremely quick call to action so as to keep 10thAnniversary celebrations on track, and we really do hope to see Hayden attend sooner than later in the near future.

Our Hero is no longer Expendable. Eric Roberts is “The Master” of Supanova!

In a career spanning five decades, Eric Roberts has become recognisable to millions of film and TV fans. He has appeared in almost 200 movies and in countless TV shows including HeroesThe Drew Carey ShowFrasierOzTouched By An AngelLaw & Order: SVU and even in a Doctor Who telemovie as the Doctor’s nemesis, The Master.

He has filmed in over 17 countries, including Australia (in The Coca-Cola Kid), and received critical acclaim for his performances in Star 80,  It’s My Party and Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. In 2008, Eric joined the cast of Batman: The Dark Knight as Gotham gangster Sal Marone; in 2010 he appeared alongside Stallone, Lundgren, Statham and Li in The Expendables.

Fans of comics and animation know him as the voice of Mongul in theJustice League cartoons. He’s such a familiar face that he has appeared as himself in 63 productions, often making light of his notoriously chequered movie-star lifestyle. Brother to Julia Roberts and father of teen actress Emma Roberts, Eric is a true Hollywood veteran.

He’s therefore also the perfect guest to kick off festivities for Supanova’s TENTH ANNIVERSARY at the Sydney expo, in addition to the Perth expo the following weekend, with an exclusive Q&A and special appearance at each of our Friday evening Preview Nights which are exclusively for full weekend ticket holders (SUPA FAN PASS), in helping us celebrate a decade of successful Supanova Expos; something we couldn’t have done without your wonderful support.

Eric will then spend the weekends meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for studio portraits.

Six Out of Six! Cylon Alert as Supanova Celebrates!

Your friends here at Supanova are delighted to announce the addition of actress TRICIA HELFER to our galaxy of stars appearing at the Sydney and Perth expos.

Tricia, a former fashion model for labels like Chanel, Dior, Versace and Givenchy, first appeared on the small screen as the producer and host of Canada’s Next Top Model. She was soon headhunted by the creators of rebooted sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica to portray Number Six, a Cylon (an android indistinguishable from humans) of critical importance to the story. In addition to her popular role onBattlestar, Tricia has also appeared in Chuck (Chuck’s season two handler), Human Target (engineer, Stephanie Dobbs), Burn Notice(Carla, Michael’s season two nemesis), Lie to Me (art thief, Naomi),Warehouse 13 (FBI Agent Bonnie Belski), and Two and a Half Men, in which she appeared as Gail, a love interest for (a pre-‘Tiger Blood’) Charlie Sheen.

On top of her TV work, Tricia is in high demand as a voice over artist for cartoons and console games. Among her many characters are Black Cat in The Spectacular Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows; Kilian Qatar in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars; Veronica Dare in Halo 3: ODST; EDI, the ship-borne artificial intelligence aboard the Normandy SR-2 in Mass Effect 2 and 3; and Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and its expansion sets, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.

In her rare breaks from work, Tricia pairs up with Battlestar gal pal Katee ‘Starbuck’ Sackhoff to raise money for their charitable foundation Acting Outlaws. The two actresses undertake epic cross-country motorcycle rides (Tricia prefers the BMW R1200GS dual sport) to raise money for animal rights, social justice and environmental causes, such as post oil spill Gulf Coast restoration.

Fans can meet Tricia at Sydney Supanova (June 16 and 17) and Perth Supanova (June 23 and 24) where she will be signing autographs and posing for portraits with fans, as well as giving behind-the-scenes Q&A talks about her work.

Unfortunately Colin Cunningham, from Falling Skies and Stargate SG-1, has had to cancel due to landing a role that forces him to remain home. Stay tuned for a new guest to replace him shortly.

She may be a Number 6. but she’s 10 out of 10 to us!
